_Danish-Swedish Farmdogs USA wishes to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Lars Adeheimer for sharing his wisdom and expertise presenting “The Danish-Swedish Farmdog Breed Study Seminar and Educational Show Workshop” on March 3, 2012 in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, USA. This event was the first ever educational seminar on this breed to be presented to AKC judges and was extremely well-received. The format of a Powerpoint lecture with an open and interactive question & answer dialog between Mr. Adeheimer and the AKC judges combined with a show-like, hands on demonstration of the breed from 6 months of age to 14 years of age was very effective in its educational value. We have received numerous compliments on Mr. Adeheimer’s presentation and workshop form our AKC judge participants.
In addition to teaching AKC judges, Mr. Adeheimer provided valuable education to Farmdog breeders and fanciers. He shared his wisdom and expertise to help us focus our breeding program appropriately. He has helped us make new Scandinavian connections to facilitate our efforts on behalf of the breed.
Our continued goal is
to promote education about the Danish-Swedish Farmdog (DSF) to AKC judges who
may encounter the DSF in the show ring with increasing frequency at dog shows including AKC Open Conformation, American Rare Breed, Kennel Club USA & United Kennel Club shows.
As of July 1, 2012, AKC-FSS breeds, including the Danish-Swedish Farmdog (DSF), will be eligible to compete in AKC-sanctioned Open Conformation Shows and earn Certificate of Merit points. An Open Show is an informal American Kennel Club sanctioned conformation event at which Championship points are not earned but rather Certificate of Merit (CM) points are awarded to this introductory AKC conformation suffix title.
