Danish-Swedish Farmdogs USA (DSFUSA) was originally founded in 2001 as an internet presence for Kennel Flora, a sole proprietorship. In September of 2010, five like-minded women recognized that there were significant unmet needs in the US Danish-Swedish Farmdog community with regards to FCI eligibility, AKC event eligibility and consumer breed education. These women developed a business plan and incorporated as a breed club under the name Danish-Swedish Farmdogs USA, LLC. In addition to our purpose of ensuring the Danish-Swedish Farmdog is recognized for event eligibility purposes globally, our function shall be to promote breed education, general canine education, and canine events and activities.
Membership
Membership in DSFUSA is non-traditional. Members may join through the "FREE Membership" page of this website. DSFUSA keeps a membership list, but there are no membership dues. Revenue is generated from registration fees for subscriptions, events and resale. Members pay only for the goods and services they wish to purchase. DSFUSA welcomes all dog fanciers, and families without Farmdogs seeking information and education are invited to join. Members receive discounts on all DSFUSA events and may elect to participate in dedicated open exchange forums, feedback surveys and volunteer activities. DSFUSA supports an active puppy group forum comprised of reputable breeders, Farmdog owners, puppy seekers and people interested in the breed. Additionally, there is a membership forum for general canine discussion which is not breed-specific.
Philanthropy
DSFUSA is committed to a policy of social responsibility and shall donate a percentage of its annual gross event revenue to selected non-profit canine organizations. Provision will be made at check-out for members and patrons to select an organization for donation. The 2011 selections include: (1) The Rabies Challenge Fund; (2) Canine Companions for Independence; (3) The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals.

The DSFUSA website promotes educational events and provides links to educational resources. Additionally, DSFUSA will provide Danish-Swedish Farmdog breeder support for kennels implementing best practices in their breeding programs. Our online store supports the event registration process and may also offer products for sale.
